Matthew Shaw was appointed Division President of ACE Global Markets in July 2010. He is also Active Underwriter for ACE's Lloyd's Syndicate 2488 and Chairman of ACE Tempest Re Europe.
In his role as Division President for ACE Global Markets he reports into Richard Pryce, Regional President ACE UK.
Matthew joined ACE in October 2002 to manage ACE’s reinsurance business. He has been in the insurance industry for 23 years, starting his career at Lloyds in 1982 working in Aviation and Non Marine lines, underwriting both direct and reinsurance business.

He became deputy Underwriter for Syndicate 340 in 1993 and Active Underwriter in 2000. He has served as a member the Lloyds Aviation Underwriters Association and ABI committees. He was also a board director of Gravett and Tilling syndicate management and from 1987 a director of St Paul at Lloyds.
